Picachu....I choose you!

We got a new pet!! This is Master Picachu. He's pretty much disgusting but.... we love him. Last Thursday a couple guys from our college were playing in the famous mud river by our house and found this Crawdad! The obvious choice was to put it in our house of course... They actually put him in one of our cooking pans with dirty water and Janae found him when she was cleaning it out to use it. Wendy and I both discovered it later, and she fell in love immediately. Sooooo we are currently holding him in our friend's old turtle tank. Apparently crawdads are pretty much invincible so...hopefully he'll be around for a long time :)

I just don't understand this creature. Half lobster, half shrimp, half spider!! Yuck.

Watermelon, Wackos, and Family Portraits

Welcome to the firehouse blog!! Here we will document all the crazy awesome happenings that can only be experienced when you live in the firehouse! But we welcome you to be a part of it thru this blog! We have so much fun, and we hope you enjoy hearing about our adventures! And so it begins...

It all started with the first day of school... This is our first day of school family picture!

A few weeks later, some friends enjoyed watermelon with us, which had been cut open with a hammer. Yes, a hammer. We just grabbed some spoons and dug in! But of course that wasn't enough. A watermelon fight ensued soon after this picture was taken, covering the porch and all the warriors with sticky sweetness! You may be wondering how you'd get all that stickiness off...

Jump in the muddy river of course! This is a canal that runs right alongside our apartments. Many a good time have been had in that river... obviously :)

And now... the moment you've all been waiting for... our family portraits! A little before school started, Wendy got the most amazing idea: we should take our family pictures in 1990's fashion! So... a few trips to the thrift store later... we each had the perfect outfit. We've since hung our family and individual 90's pictures on the walls of our home! We just love them! Here's a few of our favorites:

Have a great week!
